I was recently contacted by the RSC to be included in the 175 Faces of Chemistry project. This project highlights individuals that represent diversity, contribute to shaping the chemical sciences and are role models to a future generation of scientists. In many ways I did feel I was undeserving, but I was very honored as it gave me a chance to talk about how young students can find success in chemistry.

You can read the full article for the details. I really want to emphasize how important it is for us to support young students and their creative interests, as we can bring a lot of ideas to chemistry beyond mixing solutions. iChemLabs is beginning to fund monetary awards for undergraduates showing excellence in chemical programming, starting with Rutgers University. Alex Lo and Mohammad Malik shared this award in 2012, and Mohammad Malik won the award in 2013. Congratulations, we look forward to seeing your successes and those of the future winners of the award. We plan on bringing this award to more universities as we continue to grow.

Thank you to everyone that has supported me and my company over the years! We could not have come this far without you.

Best Wishes,
Kevin Theisen
