ChemDoodle 2D v12.7.0 Update Available
Version 12.7.0 is a feature update for ChemDoodle 2D. PubChem searching may now be performed directly from the application. The OLE server for Windows round-trip editing has been greatly improved (please see details below). A number of other options and improvements are included.August 9, 2024
ChemDoodle 3D v7.4 Update Available
ChemDoodle 3D v7.4 focuses on stereochemistry features, allowing you to easily and automatically force stereochemical configurations for stereogenic features in 3D molecules. Stereochemical information is now input from and output to SMILES, SLN and InChI. Pasting and loading 2D chemical drawings will now produce 3D structures with stereogenic features enforced via IUPAC rules. Allene and cumulene support has been added to the Universal Force Field. New precise transform functions have been added to the Content menu.June 17, 2024

ChemDoodle 3D v7.2 Update Available
ChemDoodle 3D v7.2 includes advanced symmetry analysis features for finite sets of atoms and small molecules. A new widget is provided to easily view the symmetry features of your scene and selections. Through the widget, analysis is provided, such as point group class, order and orbit groups. You may also use this widget to easily visualize the symmetry components as well as view animations for those components. Additionally, you may now color atoms by symmetry for another way to portray symmetry in graphics.October 1, 2023

ChemDoodle 3D v7.1 Update Available
ChemDoodle 3D v7.1.0 focuses on surfaces and volumetric data. Support for Gaussian Input and Cube files has been implemented. Isosurfaces, including molecular orbitals, can now be generated from Cube files. New smoothing algorithms and surface coloring options have been added. Other new features allow access to the right-click context menu directly from the Selector widget, more filetype options, and the ability to lock atoms and electrons within the optimization engine.June 25, 2023
ChemDoodle 2D v12.1 Update Available
ChemDoodle 2D v12.1 includes a "Dark" mode, new copy abilities in the Elemental Analysis widget, and support for Gaussian Input and Cube files. Reported issues were resolved, including an issue that caused the splash screen to stall for some Windows users.June 10, 2023

ChemDoodle 2D v11.13 Update Available
ChemDoodle 2D v11.13.0 is a feature update wrapping up our latest massive work on stereochemistry. A new industry leading CIP descriptor engine is implemented for the most accurate and consistent CIP assignments and the MDL/BIOVIA stereochemical drawing interpretation algorithm is now implemented along side the IUPAC specification. ChemDoodle 2D v11.10 includes further advancements to our cheminformatics functions along with some new features. The stereochemistry engine has seen a complete rewrite, with a brand new system for evaluating stereogeometries in OD/2D/3D, leading to accurate generation and interpretation of wedge drawings and full support for stereochemistry in SMILES protocol. Further advancements in our industry-leading 2D coordinate layout algorithm are provided. New features include ring coloring for highlights, support for group objects in ChemDraw files, checking bonds for drawing warnings, new periodic table options and more. ChemDoodle 3D v6.5: 3D Printing
ChemDoodle 3D v6.5 is a feature update to ChemDoodle 3D. You can now export your created molecules and chemistry scenes into model files for 3D printing and other CAD applications. Many formats are supported, along with thorough mesh data output and options for each type. We have also added support for three more RCSB formats: BinaryCIF, PDBx/mmCIF and PDBML. The last major new feature is CIP stereochemistry support for cumulenes.October 30, 2021

Windows users should also consider this update, as we have rebuilt our OLE server, which is now without any known issues, and fixed filetype associations for 64 bit registry systems. Google Patents is integrated to allow you to search the Google Patents and non-patent literature databases using structures drawn in ChemDoodle. The SciFinder-n interface has been improved and updated. A new PubChem protocol, PUG, replaces the old Entrez protocol for better results from the MolGrabber widget. ChemDoodle 2D v11.2 is a feature and stability update and is recommended for all users. The focus of this update is chemical data recovery. You can now copy and paste chemical figures (regardless of the chemical software used to create the figures) from applications on Windows and macOS into ChemDoodle to recover the original chemical drawings for extraction and further editing. We also have a new tool in ChemDoodle for scanning Microsoft Office files to extract chemical drawings if you do not have access to the original operating system or Microsoft Office anymore. This update includes significant work on CDX and CDXML file support with a goal of reproducing graphics in a pixel-perfect manner.November 18, 2020

The latest versions of ChemDoodle 2D (v11) and ChemDoodle 3D (v6) are fully supported on macOS Big Sur (macOS 10.16/11.0) and there are no known issues. ChemDoodle 2D v11.1 Update Available
ChemDoodle 2D v11.1 is a feature and stability update and is recommended for all users. The major new feature is advanced repeat unit support, both in graphical drawing and cheminformatics interpretation and expansion. Other notable features include improved reaction building interfaces and feedback, arc-length controls, and smaller EPS file output. This update also corrects an issue introduced by macOS 10.15.6, leading to corrupted and missing windows. So if you are experiencing these issues, make sure to install this update.September 5, 2020

ChemDoodle 2D v10.4 Update Available
This update includes a number of features, and improves several aspects of the application. We continue to improve our 2D structure cleaning algorithm, this time with a focus on structures with unavoidable overlaps when standard angles and lengths are used. ChemDoodle can now accept pastes of ChemDraw PDF on macOS, recovering the original ChemDraw data; this essentially allows you to recover chemical data from ChemDraw images pasted into programs like Microsoft Office on macOS. Version 9 is a major update to the ChemDoodle Web Components library. There has been a complete refactor of the library to ES6 best standards. The sketcher and editor UIs have been improved with SVG button icons. New Cloud features include advanced CIP stereochemistry support, reaction equation balancing, and stereochemistry enforcement in mechanism matching.
