Ubuntu 10.10 was just released and we have finished our tests on the platform. ChemDoodle 3 runs beautifully on the upgraded Ubuntu OS and all features are supported. We fully certify ChemDoodle 3 to work on Ubuntu 10.10. The following screenshot shows off ChemDoodle content pasted into OpenOffice as scalable vector graphics for easy creation of professional chemical documents on Linux.

Some may notice that interface fonts (not those in the graphics) in ChemDoodle are larger after the update to Ubuntu 10.10, causing some components (buttons, windows, etc.) to become larger. To improve this, perform the following steps:

  1. In the System menu in the system tray, select the Appearance menu item in the Preferences submenu.
  2. Click on the Fonts tab in the window that appears.
  3. The default Application Font is Ubuntu size 11. Change the size to 10 as shown in the following screenshot. This will affect your entire Ubuntu interface and all applications. ChemDoodle’s interface will now appear as intended.
